FIXED GAS DETECTORS

Choosing a fixed gas detection system

A fixed gas detection system watches the air around the clock. Sensors are mounted where gas could leak or collect, and each one reports to a gas detection panel that raises a gas alarm, switches sounders and beacons, and can shut off the gas supply or start ventilation. We supply, install and commission systems for plant rooms, kitchens, labs, car parks and industrial gas detection across Ireland.

The right gas sensor depends on the gas and where it goes. A methane gas detector for natural gas is mounted high, because methane is lighter than air. An LPG gas detector is mounted low, because LPG is heavier than air. A hydrogen detector also goes high. A refrigerant gas detector protects plant rooms and cold stores, and an ammonia detector covers industrial refrigeration plant. Systems range from a single detector to multipoint panels and sampling systems serving dozens of points.

Not sure what you need? Our sector pages explain typical layouts for boiler room gas detection, laboratory gas detection and car park gas detection. If you are tracing an existing problem, see our page on gas leak detection systems. All equipment below is CE certified.
