Auxiliary Items & Valves

Valves, alarms and power for a complete system

A gas detector tells you there is a problem. The items on this page are what act on it. A gas solenoid valve on the supply pipe closes automatically when the detection panel sees gas, cutting off the source of the leak. The same valve can serve as an emergency gas shut off valve, closed from a stop button by the door or linked to the fire alarm. We supply Madas, Burkert and Coster valves for natural gas and LPG.

When gas is detected, people need to know. Alarm sounders and beacons give a clear audible and visual warning inside the room and at the entrance, so nobody walks into a gas leak. A system also needs a reliable supply. A dedicated power supply and battery back-up keep the detectors and panel running if the mains fails.

Linking detection to valves and other building services is often called an interlock. Our page on gas interlock systems explains how this works in kitchens, labs and plant rooms, and our boiler room gas detection page shows a typical layout with detectors, panel and shut-off valve.
