Each Gasman monitors one gas. Crowcon offers more than 20 versions, so you choose the one that matches the known hazard at your site. Common choices include:
Crowcon designed the Gasman for tough environments and names oil and gas, chemical plants, steel works, and waste and water works as typical industries. On its product page Crowcon also mentions CO2 versions for hospitality and hydrogen versions for renewable energy.
A single gas monitor suits work where one gas is the known risk, for example H2S in waste and water works or CO2 in hospitality. Where the hazards are mixed or unknown, such as confined space entry, a multi gas monitor like the Crowcon T4 is usually the better choice.
Crowcon pairs the small size with strong alarms: a 95 dB audible alarm with selectable tones for different alarm levels, twin red and blue flashing LEDs, and an internal vibrating alarm. Toxic versions have two levels of instantaneous alarm plus TWA alarms. The backlit display shows the live gas reading, and can recall the peak reading and TWA. Sensor modules are fully interchangeable, and one button runs the whole unit.
Every Gasman version is available with a rechargeable lithium battery. Toxic and oxygen versions, except CO2, are also available with a non-rechargeable lithium battery that Crowcon rates for up to 2 years of operation. That suits users who want a monitor that clips on and runs without daily charging. Crowcon notes that frequent or long alarms and the optional confidence beep reduce battery life.
Crowcon offers an optional gas test kit for the Gasman, and the monitor shows a warning at start-up when calibration is due within 30 days or overdue. We stock bump test gases and regulators for each Gasman gas type and provide gas detector calibration with a certificate for every unit, including monitors bought elsewhere.
One gas per unit, chosen from more than 20 options covering toxic gases, oxygen and flammable gas. H2S, CO, CO2 and oxygen are among the most common versions.
Toxic and oxygen versions with the non-rechargeable lithium battery run for up to 2 years, according to Crowcon. Rechargeable versions are available for every gas, and Crowcon quotes 72 hours for the rechargeable MPS flammable version.
Yes. Crowcon lists ATEX and IECEx approvals for all versions. Toxic and oxygen versions are marked II 1G Ex ia IIC T4 Ga, and standard flammable versions are marked II 2G Ex ia db IIC T4 Gb.
